In addition to my amazingly wonderful husband (who is awesome beyond words and hot to boot) & children (BOTH of whom made honour roll this grading period muahahaha), this year I am thankful for:
my girlfriend, who along with the above has been SO supportive of all this recent drama.
Her husband, who's always been a good friend when I wasn't being psychotic :) who's supportive too AND supportive/behind our relationship all the way :)our hubbies rock :)

My DoNM sisters, for helping show me I'm not alone, and I am not a screwup :)
Going NC with the first of several toxic people in my life, I'm all about the less drama more healthy relationships thing!
Knowing more of who I am and beginning my journey towards a toxic-person-free life.
My "adopted daughter" and her boyfriend, who're cooking for us today because she wants to cook for "Mom" for once :) We ended up getting TWO invites to dinner after they found out we weren't doing anything with the FOO lol
My true friends, who, while sometimes a smidge crazy and frazzled (which of us aren't??) make me laugh and happy.
I hope everyone's Thanksgiving (those who celebrate it) is full of love and no drama, those who're spending it toxic folk hang in there!

BRRRRR!!!!
NOT loving the weather, seriously, wtf? I was hauling around in a TShirt last week, what happened? ugh.
I'm on a serious Vamps kick lately; I can't wait till they come back through the US if they do, their show was just amazing, it really was. I'll have to look back on LJ to see if I posted my review of it, if not, I shall do so!
EDIT: I have NOT posted it and thus shall do so :) heehee Even if it happened way back in July.
Pho w/ my friend Michelle was great, although seriously the constant drizzle is BLEH! We did stop by Mythic for a smidge and TXT'd people to come down for hugs; ended up with like 5 people who SHOULD have been working down there talking to us hahaha I have been greatly missed, it seems! Many widening eyes as people saw me and them running over for hugs (including the HR lady haha so Herpesaurus Rex couldn't complain I was in the building this time).
Since I'm on a Vamps/Hyde kick right now, can I recommend a movie? I'm gonna buy it when I can, I liked it that much, and frankly the whole "separate subtitle file for my avi" is irritating lol, but there you have it.
I got home and decided to lay down w/ hubby for a smidge, seeing as it was colder than hell and he is a human heater (among many other talents). Told the kids "Wake me up at 630 so we can do dinner", since it was scrounge for reheatables night tonight, but I do like to actually be around to supervise lol.
I woke up on my own just past 7pm *headdesk* they said "We figured you were tired" LOL
Not as uhm... formatted as yesterday's post but still going well and pleased as punch :) My GF noticed perkiness, to which I replied "perkiness is because I'm looking at everything during my ENTIRE life with a new perspective.. I can read and re-read my life story knowing what I know now, knowing that I'm taking the first step to no more crap like I've had for 30 years...and it's freaking liberating/empowering as hell! SOOOO many things looking back make total sense.. they weren't RIGHT and should not've happened but they make SENSE now.."
They always say the first step of a journey's the most important, but I'm looking forward to the destination :) No cardio today, will probably do a little before I go to bed, but meh; I ate pho & ice cream with Michelle so frankly I probably gained back anything I'd've lost yesterday hahaha, but it was for a good cause! She'll be ok; she's got an awesome boyfriend to help her through the whole "Wow, thanks for downsizing the company by half" thing.
I have a pot pie in the oven (kids're having spaghetti & meatballs), and I suspect it's done, so I'm gonna close this thing; enjoy the review! It's one of the things about the whole Director of Marketing thing I actually like doing hahaha!

Mechanic found for motorcycle (wootage) thanks to being reminded I am in a freaking bike club ffs we DO have a mechanic dur!! AND he's local.

Usana picking back up; no more people TRYING to make me fail = WIN! Meeting w/ Nick & Dave the Usana gurus hopefully later this week or next. We will help people get healthy!

Weight loss? Hello, cardio what? Yup; did it today! Seems I did lose some jigglies from that whole "hi I'm a viral infection set to give you a fever for 2 weeks" thing did some good after all. My metabolism was already going "Holy christ wtf" and so starting cardio back up (after a few weeks ugh out of breath) is a good thing (TM)

Resigning from my RPG night means every other weekend is now free to spend with my hubby or my girlfriend (or both maybe? hmmmmmmmm teehee) or other social engagements. One of which will be the Division gig on the 20th, which is the FIRST after their new CD is released (and I better get a damned signed copy GUYS lol)

I have a lunch date (ok not a date, I am not dating the girl hahaha) with a friend from Mythic tomorrow to have Pho which I have not had in MANY months! Actually I think since I got laid off, wtf??

NPD research going well, I seriously am considering doing my dissertation on this when I start my Phd coursework.... I mean if it's an option, it's pretty freaking interesting, the twists and turns... If nothing else I'll find an elective in between ADHD treatment courses and gender studies and whatnot. Yup; you heard me; I'm starting to research grants and crap again so I can get my BA started... It would be funnier if I were going for a BS, but alas, a BA is what it is.
SCORE!!!!!!
All in all, pretty good day, IMO, getting my ducks in a row :)

My "greatgrandaughter" Chloe (daughter of one of my adopteds' son (Thndr)) has H1N1, and I'm not entirely sure how she's doing, but am trying to get a hold of her dad (my grandson).
Please keep her in your thoughts (and her dad too who may've contracted it)...
But she's little, and precious and frankly, I'm scared for her.... |

Seeing as yesterday, Ict 11 was National Coming Out Day, tonight after an outing to Target and Baskin Robbins, I came out to my mom, who was the last person really to know I was bi/poly, though my dad knew and wanted ME to be the one to tell her out of respect, he did NOT know about my girlfriend, as we've only been dating a smidge over a month. However, after tonight they both know it all, including who she is, etc.
Amazingly (and I was shellshocked and kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop), she was ok with it, and was more curious about the poly thing, as she's known about gays and such for years. so, I answered her questions as best I could when she asked, and she actually seemed OK with it, so kudos for her. She also thought the shirt I designed for me and the GF was cute. It was kind of odd, I mean we don't get along that well, so I wasn't expecting/seeking acceptance per say, but I feel pretty damned good having finally cleared the slate, and now I don't have to catch myself before i say "my girlfriend" lol
I spent the last... 2+ hours typing up an FAQ of sorts for her and my dad which I'll post as a friends-only post cause it does have personal info in it, but everyone on my f-list prettymuch knows it all already LOL
so, I did it, I'm fully out :)

so, we just sent our son off to Middle School..
Yeah, 6th grade..
I do admit I got a smidge teary eyed...
the girl goes into 4th and i'll be walking her to school soon.. but... 6th grade...
Man, it seems like only yesterday I was holding him in my arms...
I feel kind of old hahaha and worse, like i'm out of time for all that i always wanted to do but have not been able to due to finances or whatever....
I want(ed) my kids to have a better life growing up than I did.... sometimes I'm not sure I'm managing that... |

*giggle* Do I BELIEVE in it? Sure, it exists...
Do I practice it? Hells no; can you imagine me being fully monogamous? Pfft...
I am FAR too greedy a person, I want IT ALL!!!!!
Seriously; I have chosen to be monogamous when in a steady relationship, but as time went on and I realized wait I'm NOT actually mono, it started wearing on me; like I was hiding part of myself.
Since acknowledging/embracing who I am (a bisexual Poly woman), my relationship w/ my chosen mate (and mind you other than a few extracurricular activities over the years I have not been w/ anyone BUT him) has actually gotten better; our communication is such that he was surprised at first, then prettymuch shrugged and figured it explained a lot of things LOL!!
Granted, we've still got things to work out, and the love of our life lives on the other side of the country (someday, damnit... someday), but I keep hoping hubby will find a woman he connects with who's OK with sharing :)
So far, no luck though :( |
